Zulu Stabbing Spear made famous by the Anglo-Zulu War of 1879.
The 370mm blade has a flattened diamond section with raised medial ridge. The blade is 47mm at its widest and is in great condition with a wonderful patina.
The blade is secured within the haft and palm strips were woven around it to strengthen the bond. The palm binding is in excellent condition.
The 667mm haft has a wonderful patina and flares moderately at the end.
This Iklwa has a total length of 1,036mm (103.6cm).
This is a good example of a Zulu stabbing spear and will make a great addition to any collection.
