This Russian socket bayonet is the Model 1891/30 and was used extensively by Soviet troops throughout World War two. The M1891/30 is an amalgamation of the cruciform blade of the original Model 1891 with a new socket and press stud locking mechanism developed in 1930 by E. K. Kabakow and J. A. Komaricki.
The 432mm, blued cruciform blade tapers to a flattened screwdriver point. The socket is stamped with the serial number of the Mosin-Nagant rifle that it was issued with. The socket bears additional Cyrillic stamps. The press stud mechanism works perfectly and the bayonet is in overall very good condition.
This is a great example of the famous Soviet WW2 bayonet.
