British No.4 Mk II bayonet made by the Singer factory in Glasgow, Scotland. This scarce variant was factory blued.
The Singer factory dispersal code, N67 is stamped on the socket block below the pattern designation, No.4 Mk II. The catch mechanism is also stamped with N67. The block retains remnants of desert/sand colour paint.
The bayonet is complete with a rare experimental Mk II, parallel sided, light weight steel scabbard. Only 25,000 of these Mk II scabbards were produced by the Franco-British Electrical Company. The company’s dispersal code, S191 is stamped on the bottom of the scabbard.
