Late Victorian British sword/dagger cane made from Irish Blackthorn and with a nickel silver collar.

The 300mm double-edged bodkin blade has a flattened diamond cross section and tapers to a needle-sharp point. The blade is in good condition and has mild age related tarnish.

The blade sheathes snugly within the body of the cane and is held firmly.

The blackthorn handle of the cane has a repair to an old crack. The repair is excellent and flush to the wood so that it cannot be felt when running one’s finger along the handle. The nickel silver collar is a modern replacement. The cane has a bi-metal, brass and steel ferrule.

The cane is in overall excellent condition. Total length 894mm.

Disclaimer: All sword canes sold by Bygone Blades are sold as historical collectables. They are sold for decorative collectable purposes only. In the United Kingdom and many other countries, it is a serious criminal offence to use a sword cane in public.
