This British WW1 Pattern 1907 bayonet was made in 1918 by Sanderson & Newbould of Sheffield, England.

The 432mm single-edged blade has a long narrow fuller and rounded spine. The edge was factory sharpened, which was a war-time requirement. The blade is in excellent, near mint condition. The ricasso is marked with a faint George V crown over the pattern date 1907 and the date of manufacture 9 ’18 below which the maker’s details, Sanderson are partially stamped.

The obverse ricasso bears a bend test stamp, War Department arrow and three Enfield inspection and acceptance stamps.

The crosspiece, muzzle ring and pommel retain their original black finish and are in good condition. The press-stud catch is in good working order. The grip scales are in good condition.

The bayonet is complete with its 1918 dated leather scabbard with a round frog stud. The scabbard is in very good condition. The steel locket and the chape retain their blueing. The stitching is intact and strong and the bayonet sheathes smoothly and is held firmly within the scabbard.

This is a near mint example of a Sanderson made P1907 bayonet.
