British WW1 Pattern 1907 bayonet made in 1917 by Robert Mole & Sons of Birmingham. Mole produced only 60,000 1907 pattern bayonets. Mole made P1907 bayonets are rare today.

The 432mm single-edged blade has a long narrow fuller and rounded spine. The edge was factory sharpened. The blade is in very good condition with four tiny edge nicks.

The ricasso retains its blueing and is marked with the pattern date 1907 and the date of manufacture 3 ’17 between which is stamped MOLE.

The obverse ricasso bears a bend test stamp, War Department arrow and factory inspection stamps.

The crosspiece, muzzle ring and pommel retain their blued finish and are in good condition. The press-stud catch is in perfect working order. The pommel is stamped with the issue number 107 with the number 26 above. 26 was the designation of the Dumbarton Territorial Force. The grip scales are in good condition with use related wear.

The bayonet is complete with its leather scabbard with a teardrop frog stud. The scabbard is in good condition. The steel locket and chape retain their blueing. The stitching is intact and strong and the bayonet sheathes smoothly and is held firmly within the scabbard.

This is a very good example of a rare MOLE made P1907 bayonet unit marked to the Dumbarton Territorial Force.
