This unusual Zulu throwing spear has a typical forged iron head with the tang inserted into the haft and bound in place with a forged iron band. The foot of the haft has a small spatulate blade similarly bound in iron. The spear has a wonderful patina.
The spearhead measures 15.5 inches / 40 cm in total length with a 7.5 inch / 19 cm blade. The tip of the blade has worn down with use and the blade has a raised central rib and great age patina.
The smaller spatula blade measures 2 inches / 5 cm in length.
The total length of the spear is 55.5 inches / 141 cm.
This is a nice tribally used antique.
